Text Alerts and Live Truck Tracking: What You Get on Your Phone

House lit up at night with a freshly plowed driveway in Wasilla, Alaska
The truck is three houses away. You already know, because your phone told you.
What you need to know
  • Two texts on every plow. One when your driveway is scheduled, one when the operator is on the way.
  • Pro Unlimited adds live GPS tracking so you can watch the truck come to you.
  • The point of the second text is the car. You get time to move it before the truck arrives.
  • Most customers never call us all winter. The texts are why.

The most common review we get is not about the plowing. It is about the texts. Here is exactly what the system sends you and why we built it that way.

What shows up on your phone

  1. ScheduledThe trigger trips at your address and your driveway goes on the route. You get a text that says so, usually in the evening before an overnight run.
  2. On the wayWhen the operator is a few stops out, you get a second text. This is the one that says move the car.
  3. Live trackingOn Pro Unlimited you can open the tracker and watch the truck work toward you in real time.
  4. DoneYou look out the window. It is clear. Nothing to reply to, nothing to confirm.

Why the second text matters

A plow can clear a driveway. It cannot clear a driveway with a car in it. Before the texts, the number one reason a driveway got a half pass was a vehicle parked in the middle of it at 3 AM. Now you get a heads up with time to move it, and if you cannot, the operator does what he can and you know why.

Some people sleep through it and that is fine. The text is there in the morning so you know exactly what happened and when.

Lights on, driveway clear, car moved. That is the text working.

What the tracking is good for

Timing the commuteIf the truck is two streets over at 5:40 you know you are leaving on time.
Kids and schoolSee when the driveway will be clear before you send anybody out to the bus.
Rentals and second homesWatch a driveway you are not standing in front of. Owners of rentals use this more than anybody.
Peace of mind on a big stormWhen it is dumping, the map answers the question before you have to ask it.

Email if you prefer it

Alerts go out by text or email, your call. Some of our older customers want email and some want both. Tell the office on the quote call and it is set up before the first storm.

Quick answers

Is the tracking on every plan?

Texts are on every route plan. Live GPS tracking is a Pro Unlimited feature.

What if I miss the text and my car is in the driveway?

The operator plows what he can reach and you will see it in the morning. Call the office and we will figure out the rest.

Can more than one person get the alerts?

Ask on the quote call. Tell us who needs to know and we set it up before the first storm.

Do I have to reply to anything?

No. The texts are one way. Nothing to confirm, nothing to approve.
